Murano Island – Venice, Italy Part 2 of 7

The island of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon –  Murano’s glass-makers

Glass shops are everywhere in Murano island even restaurants serve glass plates! There are countless paperweights, glass beads and necklaces, knickknacks, and items of glass jewelry. Some are amusing: e.g, colored fish in transparent glass aquariums, or wrapped hard candies of multicolored glass. Others are pretty–glass necklaces and beads.

I love their work of contemporary art and the design. I visited the galleries and showrooms which are amazing variety display. Also, we stumbled upon Duomo di Murano Santi Maria e Donato oldest church, which looks completely abandoned but beautiful. This will be seen in the video below.

Next blog No 3: on Venice and San Michele Island.

  1. Hi Saira! I’ve been to Venice, burano, Murano and Torchello (about 10 years ago!) they were all so beautiful. I loved the glass blowing and sculptures on Murano. Amazing stuff! Sadly this was all before digital cameras and I’ve lost all the photos 😭
It’s wonderful to see all thes pictures of the places you’ve been and the memories they bring back for me! ✨✨✨👏🙏
